The Showdown of Poker Hands in Texas Holdem

Just like all the sports tournaments in the world, whenever there are at least two or more remaining teams, a showdown is always held. The same is very true in the world of poker. At the end of each game, a showdown is always held to determine who the real winner is. This process makes the winner deserving the right to be called ultimate champions.

The game of Texas Holdem poker is a very nice game for all the tough and aggressive card players out there. Just imagine how exciting and thrilling each poker game can be. After undergoing the pre-flop, the flop, the turn and the river, and there still remains more than a single player remaining, a showdown must be held before an individual player can be declared the winner of that particular game.

A showdown will take place whenever there are two or more players who have yet to fold after the end of all the betting rounds possible in every game. At the showdown, all the remaining players need to form their best possible hands from their individual cards and the five community cards that are already exposed for every other player to see and use.

At the final showdown, each player can use any card on hand to go with all the other community cards. In short, a single player can either use none, one or two of the individual cards on hand as long as that individual gets the best poker hand to be fought in the final showdown. The different poker hand rankings will apply in determining who the winner is.

The poker hand rankings from the highest to the lowest are the royal flush, straight flush, four-of-a-kind, full house, flush, straight, three-of-a-kind, two pair, and one pair. This ordering will apply in determining the best hand in the game. The winner will have the chance to take the pot. This is a very hard thing to do for all the players on the table are aiming to do the same.

Players who are using all the five community cards and none from their individual cards to create their best hands would be described as playing the board. This is not as good as winning the pot using the individually distributed cards because all the other players could also use all the community cards. The possibility of ending up in a tie is very possible. This will end up with the remaining players dividing the pot equally among them.

Texas Holdem poker is indeed a really exciting game from start to finish. In case of ties during showdowns, the players need to divide the pot equally among them. If there are extra chips, they would go the first player who is situated at the left side of the dealer button.
